The needs of our society, our communities, are barely if at all, touched on in this draft. We all try hard to be responsible citizens but when our natural world is threatened we react. The draft has been viewed with horror as section after section is slanted towards further clearing of vegetation on all lands whether marginal or not. Have you not been past the Blue Mountains and seen the paucity of trees, grasses and natural areas for us to commune with nature. If landholders are in such need of monetary help then it is the government's job to work out another way to assist rather than destroy our environment. This draft must be scrapped. Amendments to the Native Vegetation Act 2003 can be negotiated to produce a more equitable and productive result than the current proposal.
