Daroo Landcare works tirelessly to restore an EEC in our city. This is a valuable remnant of box woodland. There are many parcels of precious woodlands scattered through the state. These woodlands will be under serious threat of clearing if the draft bill is passed. Where will we find examples of the dozens of ecosystems New South Wales has been proud to boast of? The draft will allow indiscriminate (that is clearing allowed under self-assessment) clearing of extremely valuable vegetation, not just highly endangered communities but unique samples of local vegetation. Do not allow the proposed bill to pass, it must be scrapped and the Native Vegetation Act 2003 amended.
